The last time there was Hunger Games makeup you could actually buy, it was CoverGirl's Capitol Collection, timed to the original films more than a decade ago. It was a limited run, and it is long gone. So when a new one arrived — Stila's, tied to The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, in theatres 20 November — the reasonable assumption was that it would either be sold out by now or be a handful of novelty pieces at a premium.
It is neither. We pulled the brand's own catalogue on 2 November 2026: eleven pieces, priced $20 to $59, and every one of them in stock. The more useful finding is what those eleven pieces actually are — because only two of them were built for the film.
What we opened the store to check
The press release that reached us was headlined around a Canadian exclusive — the collection landing at Shoppers Drug Mart. That is true for Canada, and if you are in Canada that is where to look. But it reads, at a glance, as though the collection were hard to get. So we opened Stila's own US store and the collection page directly: there it was, all eleven pieces, nothing marked sold out, nothing gated to one country. In the US it is on stilacosmetics.com and on Ulta, which lists Stila as "the official makeup partner for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping".
Stila's own catalogue data files every item under the collaboration, each created in the summer of 2026 — these are new shades, not old stock relabelled. That distinction matters for the question most fans are actually asking: is this the film's makeup, or is it Stila with a Hunger Games sticker on it? The honest answer is some of both, and it splits cleanly.
The two pieces that were built for the film
If "the Hunger Games collection" means something made for the story, it comes to two products.
| Piece | What it is | Price | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunrise Eyes™ Liqua-Play™ Eye Shadow Collection | Five liquid eyeshadows, each shade tied to a character | $59 | In stock |
| All Fire™ Liquid Eye Shadow & Kajal Liner Duo | A shadow-and-liner duo themed to the film's central love story | $34 | In stock |
The Sunrise Eyes palette is the centrepiece, and the one Ulta also carries and labels as the limited-edition collaboration at the same $59. Stila says the product names and packaging were signed off by the author of the books, and its global beauty director has described working directly with the film's hair and makeup designer on the collection, per the brand's launch announcement. Those are the two pieces where the film is the point rather than the label.
The other nine are Stila in a new shade
The rest of the "collection" is organised into three themed groups — Meadow Dream, Pretty Striking, Rebel Beauty — framed around different on-screen looks. Open them and the formulas are Stila's everyday line-up: the Huge mascara, the Stay All Day liners, the Heaven's Hue highlighter. What is new is the shade and the name.
| Group | Piece | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Meadow Dream | Heaven's Hue Highlighter — Rosy Dream | $30 |
| Meadow Dream | Heaven's Dew Honey Glow Balm — Golden Sun | $25 |
| Meadow Dream | Stay All Day Smudge & Set Gel Liner — Copper | $24 |
| Pretty Striking | Heaven's Dew All Over Glimmer — Rainbow | $30 |
| Pretty Striking | Stay All Day InkWear Liquid Liner — Electric Sky | $26 |
| Pretty Striking | Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick — Fiery | $25 |
| Rebel Beauty | Stay All Day Waterproof Liner — Intense Labradorite | $25 |
| Rebel Beauty | Huge Extreme Lash Mascara — Intense Black | $26 |
| Rebel Beauty | Eye Shadow — Fauna | $20 |
None of this is a trick — the shades were made for the collaboration and they are genuinely new. But it changes what you are buying. A "Copper" gel liner and an "Intense Black" mascara are not character pieces; they are good, standard Stila products in colours that would sit in the regular range without a film attached. If you like them, buy them for themselves. Buying the whole set expecting eleven pieces of screen makeup is the misread to avoid.
What it costs, and what we would buy
The spread runs from a $20 single eyeshadow to the $59 palette, which is refreshingly honest pricing for a licensed tie-in — there is no scarcity premium stacked on top, and nothing on the secondary market to chase, because the first-party store still has all of it.
If you want the collection, the collection is really two things. The Sunrise Eyes palette at $59 is the one object here that does not exist outside this film, and the All Fire duo at $34 is the other. Together that is $93 for everything that is actually bespoke.
If a specific shade caught your eye, buy that shade. The nine staples are priced the same as Stila's normal range, so there is no reason to buy around them in a bundle. The $20 Fauna eyeshadow and the $25 Fiery liquid lipstick are the cheapest ways into the look without committing to the palette.
We would not rush. The usual reason to buy a film tie-in the week it drops is that it vanishes — that is exactly what happened to the CoverGirl collection a decade ago, and it is what we have watched happen to Pat McGrath's Bridgerton collection, which has been delisted entirely, and to Emily in Paris, where the "lipstick" turned out to be a discontinued pencil. This one is behaving differently: weeks before the film, across two first-party retailers, nothing is gone. The scarcity reflex does not apply yet.
That is the whole value of checking rather than copying. Several roundups will tell you a limited edition is "selling fast". The brand's own catalogue, on the day we looked, said otherwise.
If you just want the look, not the label
The two bespoke pieces are eyeshadow — a character-coded liquid palette and a shadow-and-liner duo. Both are about colour placement more than a specific tube, which is good news if $59 is more than you want to spend on a tie-in you may wear twice. The themed shades here — a warm copper liner, a golden glow balm, a true-red liquid lipstick — are the language of the on-screen looks, and you can read that language off the names and match it with colours you already own. This is the same pattern we keep finding with screen beauty: the technique is the transferable part, the tube is not. A film palette buys you the exact shades in one place; it does not buy you a skill the makeup department spent weeks building. Worth remembering before the set goes in the basket.
Where to buy it
In the US, the collection is on stilacosmetics.com and at Ulta, with Stila also naming Amazon, Nordstrom and TikTok Shop as stockists. In Canada it is carried by Shoppers Drug Mart. Prices above are Stila's own, read in US dollars on 2 November 2026 — if your store answers in another currency, the figures will shift with the exchange rate, so treat the dollar prices as the reference.
FAQ
Is the Stila Hunger Games collection sold out? No. We checked Stila's own catalogue and Ulta on 2 November 2026 and all eleven pieces were in stock, weeks before the 20 November film. Prices run $20 to $59.
How many products are actually from the film? Two were built specifically for it: the Sunrise Eyes Liqua-Play palette at $59, with five shades tied to characters, and the All Fire duo at $34. The other nine are Stila's regular formulas in new, collaboration-themed shades.
What is the Sunrise Eyes palette? A five-piece liquid eyeshadow set, $59, with each shade inspired by a character. It is the centrepiece of the collection and is carried by both Stila and Ulta as the limited-edition Hunger Games collaboration.
How much is the whole collection? Individual pieces run from $20 (the Fauna eyeshadow) to $59 (the Sunrise Eyes palette). The two bespoke film pieces together — palette plus All Fire duo — come to $93.
Can I buy it outside Canada? Yes. A Canadian launch at Shoppers Drug Mart was announced, but in the US the collection is on stilacosmetics.com and Ulta, with Amazon, Nordstrom and TikTok Shop also listed as stockists.
Is it worth buying the full set? Only if you want the shades for themselves. Nine of the eleven pieces are standard Stila products at standard prices, so there is no bundle saving and no need to buy around them. For the film-specific pieces, the palette and the duo are what you are really after.
Will it sell out before the movie? It had not, as of early November — across two first-party retailers nothing was gone and there was no resale premium. Tie-in collections do disappear, but this one was not showing that pattern yet when we looked.
