The thing most people want from Hunger Games merchandise is the Mockingjay pin. It is the one object the whole franchise hangs on. So the natural question when a new film arrives — The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, in US theatres 20 November, per the film's Wikipedia entry — is simple: what does the official store actually sell, and is the pin in it?

We opened Lionsgate's own shop and read its catalogue directly. As of 3 November 2026 the Sunrise on the Reaping collection lists nineteen items, and every one of them was in stock — the catalogue has roughly doubled from nine in a day, and every one of the new additions is print-on-demand apparel or homeware. But the count is the least interesting part, and it keeps moving. Only two of the nineteen are collectibles made by Lionsgate; the other seventeen are print-on-demand apparel and homeware. And the Mockingjay pin is not here at all — for a reason that tells you what this film is.

What the official store actually lists

Nineteen products, pulled from the store's own catalogue data on 3 November 2026. They split into two piles that are not close to equal.

Pile What is in it Count
Lionsgate collectibles Flint striker pin, flint striker necklace 2
Print-on-demand T-shirts, sweatshirts, blankets, a pillow, a tank top, tote bags, tumblers, a water bottle, a sticker 17

That split is the whole story. One pile is a licensed collectible built and stocked by Lionsgate; the other is drop-shipped merch a fan-shop plug-in would produce for any property. Both are "official" in the sense that the licence is real. They are not the same kind of object.

The two pieces that are genuinely collectibles

If "the Sunrise on the Reaping collection" means something built for the story, it comes to two products — and neither is a Mockingjay.

Piece What it is Price Stock
Flint Striker Pin Enamel pin of the District 12 flint striker, iridescent rainbow finish $16.99 In stock
Flint Striker Necklace Pendant on an adjustable cord, engraved with Lenore Dove's message to Haymitch $34.99 In stock

The flint striker is this film's token the way the Mockingjay was Katniss's. Sunrise on the Reaping is a prequel: it follows a sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy through the 50th Hunger Games, the Second Quarter Quell, as the Wikipedia synopsis lays out. The flint striker is the keepsake his girlfriend Lenore Dove gives him — Lionsgate's own product copy describes the necklace as "inspired by the piece Lenore Dove gives to Haymitch in the film," engraved with a message referencing her. That is the one piece of screen jewellery here, and Lionsgate tags it "as seen on" screen.

Two caveats worth knowing before you add either to a basket. First, both are tagged US Only in Lionsgate's catalogue — the official store will not ship them abroad, which is the same wall international fans hit on most studio merch. Second, these are the only two items in the collection where the object itself is specific to the film rather than a design printed onto a blank.

The other seventeen are print-on-demand

The rest of the collection is produced through Printify, a print-on-demand service — the catalogue names the vendor plainly, and one tee is a Bella+Canvas blank. These are made to order when you buy them, not stocked collectibles, and the artwork is mostly generic retro-floral patterning rather than anything from the film. The full list, read from the store's catalogue data on 3 November 2026:

Item Price
Effie "Make Them Remember You" T-Shirt $31.99
Floral Flint Striker T-Shirt $31.99
"Maysliee" Retro Graphic Tee $31.99
"Ever In Your Favor" T-Shirt $34.99
50th Anniversary T-Shirt $31.99
White Sweatshirt $48.99
Floral Flint Striker Sweatshirt $48.99
Sweet Heart Crop Tank Top $27.99
Colorful Collage Pillow $39.99
Floral Retro Blanket $49.99–$67.99
Sherpa Retro Curvy Blanket $49.99–$67.99
Retro Tote Bag $27.99
"Make Them Remember You" Tote Bag $27.99
Stainless Steel Tumbler $35.99
Stainless Steel Tumbler (Landscape) $35.99
"From the Breakdown" Water Bottle $31.99
Colorful Flint Striker Sticker $3.99–$6.99

None of this is a scam — it is licensed, and if you want a themed sweatshirt it is a legitimate way to get one. But "in stock" means something different for a made-to-order print than for a pin sitting in a warehouse: nothing can sell out, and nothing is screen-accurate. A $67.99 sherpa blanket in a "retro curvy pattern" is homeware with a logo, not a prop. Knowing which pile you are buying from is the entire point.

If you came for the Mockingjay pin

You will not find it in the Sunrise store, and that is correct rather than an oversight — Haymitch's games predate Katniss by twenty-four years, so the Mockingjay is not yet the symbol it becomes. The Mockingjay pin exists as its own officially licensed product, timed to the same release but sold separately: a two-inch metal replica from Running Press that comes on a display stand playing Katniss's whistle, listed by its publisher Hachette at $16.95. It went on sale in October 2026 through book retailers rather than the film shop, which is why a search of the Sunrise collection turns it up empty.

So the honest map is: the film's own token is the flint striker, at $16.99 for the pin from Lionsgate; the franchise's famous pin is the Mockingjay, at $16.95 from a book publisher. They cost almost the same and they are different objects for different reasons.

What it costs, and what we would buy

The collection runs from the $16.99 flint striker pin to a sherpa blanket topping out near $68, and nothing on it carried a scarcity premium on the day we looked — the first-party store had every item in stock, so there is nothing to chase on resale yet.

If you want the film's keepsake, buy the flint striker. The pin at $16.99 or the necklace at $34.99 are the only two pieces here that are specific to Sunrise on the Reaping rather than a pattern on a blank. The necklace is the more story-literal of the two, engraved with Lenore Dove's message.

If you want the Mockingjay, buy the Mockingjay — elsewhere. The Running Press replica at $16.95 is the one with the whistle stand, and it is a book-shop product, not a film-shop one.

If you want a themed hoodie or blanket, go in knowing it is print-on-demand. There is no harm in the apparel, but you are buying a logo garment, not a collectible — and at $48.99 for the sweatshirt that is worth being clear-eyed about.

This is the same pattern we keep finding with tie-in merch: the word "official" covers both a made-for-screen object and a drop-shipped print, and the price tag alone will not tell you which. We saw it the other way round with this film's beauty line too — Stila's Hunger Games collection turned out to be nine everyday products and two bespoke ones. Checking the catalogue rather than the headline is the whole job.

Where to buy it

The two collectibles and the print-on-demand apparel are all on Lionsgate's official Sunrise on the Reaping store, which ships within the US only. The Mockingjay replica is sold separately through book retailers, listed by its publisher. Prices above are Lionsgate's and Hachette's own, read in US dollars on 3 November 2026; if your store answers in another currency, the figures shift with the exchange rate, so treat the dollar prices as the reference.

FAQ

What does the official Sunrise on the Reaping store sell? Nineteen items, all in stock when we checked on 3 November 2026. Two are Lionsgate collectibles — a flint striker pin and a flint striker necklace — and the other seventeen are print-on-demand apparel and homeware (t-shirts, sweatshirts, blankets, a pillow, a tank top, tote bags, tumblers, a water bottle, a sticker).

Is the Mockingjay pin in the collection? No. The film is a prequel set during Haymitch's games, before the Mockingjay becomes a symbol, so the store's token is the flint striker instead. The Mockingjay pin exists as a separate officially licensed replica from Running Press, sold through book retailers.

What is the flint striker? It is the keepsake Lenore Dove gives Haymitch in the film. Lionsgate sells it as a $16.99 enamel pin and a $34.99 engraved necklace, both tagged "as seen on" screen.

How much is the Mockingjay pin replica? The Running Press replica, which comes with a display stand that plays Katniss's whistle, is listed by publisher Hachette at $16.95. It went on sale in October 2026.

Can I buy the Lionsgate collectibles outside the US? Not from the official store — both the pin and the necklace are tagged "US Only" in Lionsgate's catalogue, meaning the shop will not ship them internationally.

Is the apparel screen-accurate? No. The t-shirts, sweatshirt, blankets and pillow are print-on-demand through Printify, made to order, with mostly generic retro-floral artwork. They are licensed but they are logo garments and homeware, not props.

Is the collection going to sell out before the film? The collectibles could, since they are physical stock, but nothing was gone when we looked weeks ahead of the 20 November release, and there was no resale premium. The print-on-demand items cannot sell out because each one is made when you order it.
