The same shop sells a Peaky cap for $52 and a Peaky Blinders cap for $78. Only the $78 one is licensed by the show. And Tommy Shelby's coat, cardigan and jewellery were made in-house by the costume department — there is no brand to buy, and the costume designer has said so on the record.
This is the rare screen-shopping question where the answer is checkable in three seconds, once you know what to look for. Below: the test, the caps, the spirits question that everyone gets slightly wrong, and why the entire "buy Tommy Shelby's coat" genre is built on nothing.
The three-second test
Every genuinely licensed Peaky Blinders product carries the same line, usually in the page footer:

That is it. Scroll to the bottom of any product page. If that line is there, the rights holder is paid and the product is authorised. If it is absent, you are looking at something that uses the words "Peaky" or "Peaky Blinders" descriptively, or a knock-off.
We used this test on everything below, and it produced a genuinely surprising result at the very first shop we checked.
The caps: one retailer, two legal statuses
Boston Scally, the Boston cap maker, sells both. This is not a trap they set — the licensed products say so clearly and the others make no claim at all. But almost nobody notices, because the caps sit in the same category and look similar.

The $78 Second Edition is genuine Harris Tweed, 100% wool, dark charcoal, XS–XXXL, and was showing low stock. The $98 First Edition adds a commemorative box, dust bag, hat pin, a razor, and a custom dye-sublimated lining. Both are final sale, limit five per order.
The $52 caps — "The Peaky – Coolidge Black," "The Irish Rose Peaky," and 133 others — are the same eight-panel silhouette and, by the maker's own account, an interpretation. Boston Scally's own explainer describes the show as being "based on a fictional family in post-WWI Britain" and says they "Boston Scally-ize" the style. No licence is claimed and none is implied.
Which should you buy? Genuinely: whichever you want. The $52 cap is not a fake — it is a cap in that style from a real maker, honestly described. The $78 one is the same maker with Harris Tweed and a licence. The point is not that one is bad. The point is that $26 of the difference is the licence and the tweed, and you should know which you are paying for.
Tommy Shelby's coat does not exist as a product
This is the biggest search term in Peaky Blinders shopping, and the honest answer closes it permanently.
Costume designer Alison McCosh — Seasons 4 to 6 and the 2026 film — described the wardrobe to Netflix's Tudum in March 2026:
"That's his first look: a shawl-collar cardigan that we made for him, all hand done, beautiful cashmere."
"We did the scarves and the jewelry; we took original pieces of jewelry and we manufactured them."
She describes the new coat as midnight cashmere, and explains making duplicate garments so they could be painted with fake dirt for a pigpen scene. Multiples, built in-house.
No costume designer on this production has ever named a commercial brand for Tommy Shelby's clothes. Not McCosh, not her predecessors. The wardrobe was made for the production, in the production's workroom.
So every page offering you "Tommy Shelby's coat" is selling a coat in that style. Some are good coats. None of them are the coat, because the coat is not a product and never was.
The show's effect on real shopping was still enormous: the Tudum piece notes that the UK department store John Lewis reported flat-cap sales rose 83% between 2016 and 2017. People did not buy Tommy's cap. They bought a cap.
The spirits question, stated accurately
You will see it written that the show "lost a trademark case" against the gin and whisky sold as Peaky Blinder by Sadler's. That overstates what happened, and the accurate version is still decisive.
What is on the record: Caryn Mandabach Productions sued Sadler's Brewhouse in California in 2020. In May 2021, Judge Consuelo B. Marshall refused to block sales — denying a preliminary injunction on the grounds that the producers had not shown they owned a protectable trademark, since "Peaky Blinders" was descriptive or suggestive of a show about a gang of that name, and secondary meaning was not established. Mandabach's mark was unregistered in the US at the time.
That was an interim ruling, not a final judgment, and we could not establish how the case ultimately ended. So the precise, defensible statement is: the Sadler's spirits are not licensed by the show, and when the producers went to court to stop them, a federal judge declined to.
The official spirits, as of 2026, is a different product entirely. Banijay announced Barrel Global as its spirits partner in February 2026: a Peaky Blinders bourbon distilled at Green River in Kentucky, finished on Irish whiskey oak staves, 45% ABV, $44.99 for 750ml, launched across the US, Canada and Mexico in March 2026.
Two things to know before ordering: it ships within the continental US only, and not to Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia or North Carolina. UK and Australian readers have no official route to it at all.
There was also an official Bushmills "Prohibition Recipe" bottling in 2022 at $29.99, timed to the final season. That was a limited edition and it is done. If you see it described as the current official whiskey, the page is four years stale.
The official shop, and a small piece of brand archaeology
peakyblinders.shop launched in March 2026, run by the UK print-on-demand firm Teemill under a deal negotiated by Banijay Rights. Organic cotton, plastic-free mailers.
Prices seen on the shop on 9 August 2026: T-shirts £22, oversized tees £25, plus sweatshirts, hoodies and accessories. Free UK shipping over £50 and — unusually for this category — worldwide shipping.
The shop opens with the line "Welcome to the Garrison Tailors," which is a small story in itself. garrisontailors.com was the show creator's own clothing venture, and it is still online — but as a holding page. Its copy says the venture is moving on from online sales, and it still describes the film as about to start shooting, although the film released in March 2026. The domain is paid up to 2027. It is dormant, not dead, and the official shop has taken over its name.
Other current licensees
All confirmed from Banijay's own announcements:
- Gresham Blake, the British tailor — an official tenth-anniversary collection, accessories from November 2023 and made-to-measure tailoring through 2024. This is the closest thing to an authorised route to the tailoring look.

Announced in 2022 and worth checking before you chase them: Conway Stewart pens, Drew Pearsons caps in the UK, official Risk and Monopoly editions, and a cookbook. We verified these were announced; we did not verify that any are still in stock four years later.

Is Peaky Blinder gin or whisky official? No. The Sadler's spirits sold as "Peaky Blinder" are not licensed by the show. The producers sued in California in 2020 and a federal judge declined to block sales in May 2021, finding they had not shown they owned a protectable trademark.
