Studio Ghibli's licensee makes genuinely screen-accurate prop replicas — the amulet hair tie Zeniba braids for Chihiro is ¥1,540 and in stock right now. If you live in the United States, Canada or Australia, there is no official way to order it online. None. Two of the three official shops ship within Japan only and explicitly refuse forwarding services; the third serves Europe and the UK and excludes North America at checkout.
That is the honest state of it, checked 9–10 August 2026. Below: what exists, what it costs, exactly why you cannot have it, and the one temporary exception.
The best object in the catalogue
Spirited Away — the amulet hair tie, ¥1,540. Item 37545 at Donguri Kyowakoku, the official Ghibli chain, and it is in stock.
The official description is unusually specific about what it reproduces: the amulet hair tie Zeniba braided and gave to Chihiro, with parts evoking Haku's scales and Chihiro's tears, and Boh's mouse form worked into it.
That is a real prop replica of a real object with real narrative weight, for about ten dollars. It is the single best thing in this entire catalogue and almost nobody outside Japan knows it exists.
One correction to the internet: the colour "purple" appears in the page's keywords, not in the official description. Do not quote it as official copy.
Castle in the Sky: six versions of the levitation stone
Sheeta's stone is the most thoroughly served object Ghibli has licensed. All six were in stock:

The voice-activated one is exactly what it sounds like: it responds to the spoken word "Balse." Its official copy says so directly.
Watch the ¥880 one. Its listing states explicitly that it does not light up. It is easy to mistake for the illuminated version at a quarter of the price.
Howl's Moving Castle, with a real caveat
The Howl and Sophie ring set is ¥2,420 and in stock. But two things are worth knowing before you get attached.
It comes in one size only — Japanese size 13, roughly a US 6½. There is no other size in the catalogue. For a ring, that is a hard stop rather than an inconvenience.
And the official copy is more modest than the internet's. Ghibli describes the set as based on "the film's memorable accessories." It does not say these are the amulet rings Howl gives Sophie. That reading is a fan interpretation, repeated until it sounds official.
Howl's earring: we could not find any screen-accurate replica, past or present. The nearest items are character-motif charms — a young Howl and Calcifer pair at ¥6,600 (in stock) and a bacon-and-egg pair at ¥6,050 (sold out). Neither is the earring.
The two that are already gone
Kiki's red ribbon hairband is delisted in Japan — its page returns nothing. It survives in the European catalogue at €18.50 and is out of stock there.
What you can still buy is the ribbon turban version: ¥1,650 in Japan, €22.95 and in stock in Europe. For a UK reader, that is the one Kiki item that actually works today.
Princess Mononoke's crystal dagger — the necklace Kaya gives Ashitaka, which he gives to San, and the thing most people mean by "San's necklace" — is delisted in Japan and out of stock in Europe at €89.95.
Careful here: the European shop also sells a "San's dagger ballpoint pen" at €24.90, which is in stock. It is a pen.
Now the part that matters: you probably cannot buy any of it
This is where every other article on this subject stops, and it is the only part that determines whether you get the thing.
Donguri Kyowakoku (the main official shop) — Japan only, and forwarding is refused. Their guide states delivery is within Japan, and separately that purchases for resale or forwarding are firmly declined, that orders judged improper may be cancelled, and that they will not ship to a courier depot or accept forwarding requests. Orders placed to a Japanese marketplace account with a non-Japan address are cancelled.
The Ghibli Museum shop — Japan only, and the wording is even more explicit. They state that overseas delivery is not accepted and that overseas delivery using forwarding warehouses is also refused. They name the workaround specifically in order to close it.
Maison Ghibli — Europe and the UK, and no United States. This is the official Studio Ghibli partner for Europe and the UK, operating since 2012, and it is the only official English-language online store. Its delivery list covers thirty-odd European countries including Great Britain — and does not include the USA, Canada or Australia.
So: a UK reader is well served. An American, Canadian or Australian reader has no official online route at all.
We are not going to suggest a proxy service. Two of the three shops say in their own terms that they will cancel such orders, and recommending a route that gets a reader's order cancelled is not advice.
The one American exception, and it has a deadline
Donguri Republic opened its first US store — a pop-up at Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California, running from 23 June 2026 to 31 December 2026, with 400+ officially licensed products spanning Spirited Away, Howl's, Mononoke and Kiki.
It is physical only. There is no online ordering. We could not verify which of the specific items above it stocks.
If you are in Southern California, that is your window, and it closes at the end of the year.
What we would do
- In the UK or Europe: the ribbon turban at €22.95 is in stock and is the easiest real thing to own. Check Maison Ghibli for the rest — but expect the hero pieces to be out of stock, because they usually are.
- In Japan or travelling there: buy the ¥1,540 hair tie. It is the best object here by a distance and it costs almost nothing.
- In the US, Canada or Australia: honestly, wait, or go to Torrance before December. Everything else you find online is either grey-market or unlicensed, and the official shops are actively hostile to the workarounds.
- Do not buy a "Ghibli official" item from a site you have not heard of. Several stores with plausible names are not licensed. Ghibli publishes its authorised partners on its own site; that list is the arbiter.

Can you buy the hair tie Zeniba gave Chihiro? Yes — ¥1,540 from Donguri Kyowakoku, in stock, and the official description explicitly identifies it as that object, incorporating Haku's scales and Chihiro's tears.
