Where to watch — the honest answer
Apple TV only. It is an Apple original, it has never been licensed to another platform, and it will not appear on Netflix, Prime Video, Max or anywhere else. Seasons 1 to 3 are also on Apple TV and nowhere else.

What it costs, and three ways to pay less

Three legitimate routes to a lower price:
- The free trial. Apple runs a seven-day trial for new subscribers. Ten weekly episodes will outlast it, but it covers a catch-up binge once the season has finished — which is the cheapest way to watch the whole thing if you are patient.
- Apple One. If you already pay for iCloud storage and Apple Music, the bundle absorbs the TV subscription and usually works out cheaper than the three separately. Worth doing the arithmetic on your actual usage rather than assuming.
- Three months free with a new device. Apple includes a trial period with new iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple TV boxes. If someone in your household has bought hardware recently and not redeemed it, the offer may still be sitting unused.
What we would not do is subscribe for ten weeks at full price to watch one show weekly. Unless you are following the conversation in real time, waiting until October and paying for a single month costs a fraction as much.
Watching it outside your home country
Apple TV is available in over 100 countries and the catalogue for Apple originals is the same everywhere — unlike Netflix, where a show can exist in one country and not another. Ted Lasso is on Apple TV in every market where the service operates, at the same moment. If you travel, your subscription follows you and the show is there.
Two practical notes. Prices differ by country and are charged in local currency, so the figure on your bill depends on the App Store region your Apple ID is registered to, not where you are sitting. And downloads work offline in the app, which is the sensible move for a flight — the episode is roughly an hour, and downloading over hotel wifi the night before beats streaming at 30,000 feet.
Subtitles and audio
Apple originals ship with a wide subtitle set — Ted Lasso has subtitles in around 40 languages and dubbed audio in a dozen. This matters more than usual with this show: the dialogue is fast, heavily idiomatic, and full of American sports metaphors landing on British characters. Do you need to have seen Seasons 1 to 3?
Yes, more than you might expect. Season 4 depends on relationships built over three seasons — Ted's history with the club, Rebecca's arc, Roy and Keeley — and it opens with Ted back in Kansas City, which only lands if you know why he left.
If you are starting cold, the good news is that Seasons 1 to 3 are all on the same subscription, 34 episodes in total. If you are short on time, Season 1 is the essential one; Season 2 is the emotional groundwork; Season 3 sets up where everyone is when Season 4 begins.
What Season 4 is actually about
Apple's own synopsis is short: Ted returns to Richmond and takes on "his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team."
That is the real change this season. The club now has a women's side, which brings new characters, a new squad, and — for anyone who noticed the kit — a shared strip between the two teams. The season opens in Kansas City before moving to London, and the Kansas City stretch was shot on location there in July 2025.

Why weekly, and why it matters here
Apple has stuck with weekly releases for its flagship shows while much of the industry drops full seasons, and this one benefits from it more than most. Ted Lasso is built on running jokes and slow character turns, and a week between episodes is what lets a small moment land before the next one arrives. It also keeps the conversation alive for ten weeks rather than three days.
The practical consequence: if you avoid spoilers, Wednesday is a minefield. The show trends most of that day in the UK and US, and Apple's own social accounts post clips within hours.
Is this the last season?
