You cannot buy the Camp Know Where cap on its own. Every official standalone version is sold out — the New Era, both Cinereplicas storefronts, the mall retailer — and Netflix's own shop has never carried one. What is still buyable is a $33.95 costume set that bundles the cap with a T-shirt, and unlike almost everything else in this show's merchandise, it ships to all four of our markets.
Checked 10 August 2026. Below: which cap belongs to which season, what is genuinely gone, and the one hat of Dustin's that is easy to buy.
First, work out which cap you want
Dustin wears a different hat almost every season, and a large share of the disappointment around this purchase comes from people ordering the wrong one. They are not interchangeable and they do not look alike.
| Season | The cap |
|---|---|
| 1–2 | Red, white and blue mesh trucker |
| 3 | Camp Know Where — yellow and green |
| 4 | The "Thinking Cap" — light blue and white |
| 5 | Black and yellow |
The two people usually mean are the third and fourth. Camp Know Where is the science-camp cap, and it is the one that is unobtainable on its own. The Thinking Cap is the later one, and it is in stock nearly everywhere.
If you are not certain which you are picturing: Camp Know Where reads as summer camp, in warm yellow with green. The Thinking Cap is cooler and paler, light blue against white.
Camp Know Where: everything standalone is gone
We went through every official route. This is not a case of one retailer running low.
- New Era's 19TWENTY version, at $39.99, reports as unavailable.
- Cinereplicas has it in both storefronts and both are out — the European listing at €20.50 shows no stock, and the American one at $22.50 is likewise sold out.
- Hot Topic listed one at $11.99. Out of stock.
- Netflix's own shop has no Camp Know Where cap at all — not sold out, simply never stocked. We searched the full catalogue of more than two thousand products and found none.
That last point is worth sitting with, because it is the single most common reason readers give up. A platform's merchandise shop and its licensing programme are different things. The absence of an item from one tells you very little about the other.
The one route that works
Mad Engine's Dustin Camp Know Where costume set is $33.95, and it includes the cap. Every size from XS to 3XL was in stock when we checked, and it ships to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia — which makes it, oddly, one of the most broadly available Stranger Things items we have looked at.
The catch is that you are buying a T-shirt you may not want in order to get a cap you do. At $33.95 for the pair, the cap is effectively costing you somewhere near the price the standalone version used to be, and the shirt is thrown in. Framed that way it is a reasonable deal rather than a compromise.
The same set appears on the large American marketplace at $29.95. If you are in the US and the price difference matters, that is the cheaper door to the identical product.
The Thinking Cap is easy
If your attachment is to season four rather than season three, this is a much better afternoon.
| Where | Price | Stock |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix Shop | $26.95 / CA$39 / A$45 | In stock |
| Netflix Shop — Braille embroidered | $25.00 | In stock |
| Cinereplicas EU | €20.50 | In stock |
| Cinereplicas US | $22.50 | Sold out |
The Braille version is the interesting one and it is easy to scroll past. It is the same cap with the lettering embroidered in Braille, and it is a dollar cheaper than the standard. If you want the object to be slightly more than a hat, that is the one.
The season five cap, in black and yellow, is also widely stocked — around $19.99 at one big-box retailer and $17.99 on the marketplace, made by Bioworld.
The shipping rule that catches everyone
Cinereplicas comes up repeatedly in this show's merchandise, so it is worth learning its quirk once.
The company runs two storefronts and their shipping maps are not mirror images:
- cinereplicas.com — American, priced in dollars. Ships to Australia and Canada. Does not ship to the UK.
- cinereplicas.eu — European, priced in euros. Ships to the UK, Canada and Australia. Does not ship to the US.
British readers must use the European site. American readers must use the American one. Canadians and Australians can choose, and should compare, because stock differs between them constantly — the Thinking Cap being in stock in Europe and sold out in America is a live example.
What you can buy with the logo on it
If the appeal is the Camp Know Where graphic rather than a cap specifically, the clothing is not scarce at all. Hot Topic carries the tee at $23.90, a sweatshirt at $36.90 and a hoodie at $44.90, and these have stayed in stock while every hat vanished.
This is a common pattern in licensed merchandise and worth recognising: headwear sells out first and gets restocked last. Caps are made in smaller runs, they are one-size so there is no size hedging in the buy, and they are the item most likely to be bought on impulse at a convention or a mall. The T-shirt with the identical artwork will still be there in six months.
If you cannot have it
The Camp Know Where cap is a yellow and green trucker with a camp-style patch, and that is a genuinely common object. A plain yellow-and-green foam-front trucker gets the silhouette and the colour right for very little money, and an embroidered or printed patch finishes it. Nobody at any distance is auditing the logo.
Two honest cautions if you go the unofficial route. First, avoid the marketplace listings that show the cap photographed on a mannequin against a white background with no brand named — those are the ones most likely to arrive in the wrong yellow, and colour is the whole identification here. Second, the licensed set at $33.95 is not expensive relative to a good blank plus a custom patch, so the DIY route only really wins if you enjoy the making.
Our recommendation, plainly: if you want Camp Know Where, buy the Mad Engine set and accept the T-shirt. It is the only official cap left and it reaches every market. If you want a Dustin cap and are flexible about which, buy the Thinking Cap — it is cheaper, it is in stock, and the Braille version is a better object than the one everybody is hunting for.
