The original went to the Smithsonian in May 2026. The licensed copy is $59.99 in the US, £53.99 in the UK, CA$83.99 and A$93.99 — every size in stock. And the collar is white, not blue. The wig is the hard part, and almost every page about this gets that backwards too.

Three things nearly everyone gets wrong
The collar is white. A Peter Pan collar in white. There is no blue-collared version, and the blue-collar description circulates widely enough that people buy the wrong thing.
It is not the Benny's Burgers scene. At Benny's she wears an oversized yellow Benny's Burgers T-shirt. The pink dress and blonde wig appear in the Wheeler basement in season one, chapter four — the mirror moment.
It was not thrifted. Costume designer Kimberly Adams has said plainly: "I tried various period girls dress[es] from the 70's to find the right shape, and we built multiples so it could carry over to being aged." So the dress was built in-house, using 1970s girls' dresses as a shape reference, in multiples so it could be progressively distressed. Within the story it is a hand-me-down of Nancy's from the Wheeler attic — but as an object, nobody bought it anywhere.
And in May 2026 the costume was donated to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. One caution: the museum's own listing covers the dress, the flannel, the socks and the Converse. It does not list the wig. If you see a claim that the wig is in the collection, that is not from the Smithsonian.

- Spirit Halloween — $49.99, their own licensed exclusive, all six sizes in stock. Dress only.
- The Costumer — $39.99, the cheapest US price we found.
- A tween version at $49.99 from the same Disguise line.
Best single answer for most readers: the Disguise deluxe. One product, four native storefronts, local currency, everything in stock.
One safety note. A domain calling itself spirithalloweenonlineshop.com appears in search results. The real retailer is spirithalloween.com. The other has the hallmarks of a counterfeit clone.
Where it is not
Worth listing, because these are the places people look first.
Netflix's own shop does not sell it. We searched the full catalogue — no Eleven dress, no wig. This is the single most common reason the dress gets reported as unavailable: people check the platform's store, find nothing, and conclude nothing exists. A platform's own shop is not the same thing as its licensing programme.
Hot Topic has four Eleven dresses and all four are out of stock in every size — at $14.99, $58.99, $54.90 and $36.99. Their live Stranger Things section is tees and tanks.
BoxLunch: the $45.90 replica dress is out of stock. Party City: two Stranger Things items site-wide, neither the dress. EMP UK, Zavvi, Truffle Shuffle: no dress. Older Rubie's listings on Amazon read "currently unavailable."
The wig is the actual problem
This is where the money gets wasted, so it deserves its own section.
We could not find any officially licensed season-one blonde Eleven wig in stock at any verifiable retailer. The Rubie's item is discontinued. The main unlicensed lookalike is sold out. Spirit Halloween's Stranger Things range has no wig at all. HalloweenCostumes' own Eleven page points shoppers toward generic wigs.
And here is the trap. The Eleven wigs that are in stock are season two — the shaved, slicked-back punk look. One of them is $8.89 and well stocked. Another retailer's listing for a short Eleven wig says outright that the blonde one is gone. If you order "Eleven wig" without checking, there is a good chance you receive the wrong season.
What actually works: a generic short blonde synthetic bob, around $19.99. There is no licensed alternative to compare it against, so buy on the hair rather than the label.
Why this costume is so much easier to buy than the rest of the show
Worth understanding, because it explains a pattern you will hit again.
Licensing for a series like this is split by category and by territory. Disguise holds the North American costume licence; Rubie's holds Europe, and sells it in the UK under its Smiffys brand. That is why the same dress appears at $59.99 in one place and £25.99 in another, and why an Australian reader can order from one storefront but not from Smiffys.
It also explains the dead ends. Rubie's own American website carries no Stranger Things products at all — we checked its entire catalogue. Their historic US stock now only trickles through third-party costume shops, which is why so many Amazon listings for Rubie's Eleven items read "currently unavailable" while a nearly identical Disguise product sits in stock elsewhere.
The practical rule: when a costume seems to have vanished, check which company holds the licence for your region rather than assuming the item is discontinued. A product being absent from one licensee's shop tells you almost nothing about the other's.
What the costume gets right, and what it does not
If you care about accuracy rather than just recognisability, three details separate a good version from a cheap one.
The collar. It should be a proper Peter Pan collar — rounded, flat, white, and small. Cheap versions make it oversized, which pushes the look toward a generic doll costume.
The colour. A soft, slightly dusty pink. Anything hot or fluorescent reads as modern, and the whole point is that the dress is a hand-me-down from an older sister's childhood.
The socks. Striped, ankle-length, worn scrunched rather than pulled up. The Disguise deluxe includes them; most other versions do not, and they are cheap to buy separately.
What no licensed version reproduces is the aging. The costume department built multiples specifically so the dress could get progressively dirtier and more damaged across the season. A new costume looks new, which is the one thing the screen version never does. If you want it to read correctly in a photograph, a light wash and some deliberate wear does more than any upgrade in price.
If you want it cheaper
An unlicensed version exists at $14.99 from Miccostumes, which ships internationally. It is not licensed, and we are noting it as a fact rather than a recommendation — at £25.99 for the licensed Smiffys version in the UK, the gap is small enough that the licence is worth having.
Generic pink Peter Pan collar dresses with socks are also sold on the large marketplaces. We could not verify their prices reliably enough to quote them.
The honest assembly route: a plain pink dress with a white Peter Pan collar, white ankle socks, a blue-and-yellow striped flannel over the top, and Converse. That is the whole look, and none of it needs a licence. The dress was built from ordinary 1970s shapes in the first place.
